Natural Resource Facilitation and Collaborative Leadership

In May 2023, I completed the University of Montana’s Natural Resource Conflict Resolution Certificate Program, and six months later, I began working as Project Coordinator at the Center for Natural Resources and Environmental Policy, an applied research institute at the University of Montana. The Center provides a suite of services to agencies, nonprofits, tribes, and the public, including: facilitation, multi-party negotiation, creative problem solving, collaborative governance, leadership development, strategic planning, and process design.

At the Center, I’ve been able to support a variety of projects, including needs assessments, strategic development, leadership coaching, working group facilitation, and storytelling/messaging initiatives, all to support a variety of conservation projects across the American West.

In many ways, this role is the missing link I’d always felt in my work. Whether I was doing ecological research, guiding, or writing, I was looking for some way to connect people to their communities and to their landscapes, and I’m very thankful to be working here.

I’m currently helping the Center redo its website, but once it’s live, I’ll link it here!
